The Four Core Values of IYFR

1. The Joy of Sailing & Maritime Spirit

Promoting the enjoyment of sailing, yachting, and a wide range of water-based activities. We emphasize high standards of seamanship, water safety education, and respect for international maritime etiquette, regulations, and laws.

2. Global Fellowship on the Water

Building genuine friendships among water enthusiasts across borders and cultures. Guided by the spirit of “A Friend in Every Port,” IYFR members can enjoy a warm welcome, local knowledge, and mutual support from fellow fleets when sailing into ports around the world.

3. Rotary’s “Service Above Self” in Action

Turning our passion for the sea into meaningful community service and humanitarian action. By leveraging boats, maritime resources, and our global fellowship, we promote water safety awareness, opportunities for people to experience and connect with the water, and support for maritime rescue resources.

4. Ocean Conservation & Environmental Sustainability

Promoting a harmonious relationship between people and the ocean, while taking responsibility for protecting our blue planet. Through Leave No Trace at Sea, plastic reduction initiatives, beach cleanups, and marine environmental education, we strive to preserve clean, healthy, and sustainable oceans for future generations.
